Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 27, 2024

At ZIGO (tryzigo.com), we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our credit card analysis tool.

🔒 Privacy in Plain English

✓ Your transaction data is processed entirely in your browser - it never reaches our servers

✓ We don't store, sell, or share your financial information

✓ No account required - we don't collect personal information

✓ Analytics are anonymized and contain no financial data

✓ You're in complete control of your data

1. Information We Collect

Transaction Data (Client-Side Only)

When you upload a credit card or bank statement CSV file to ZIGO:

  • • The file is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript
  • • We never upload your transaction data to our servers
  • • Your data never leaves your device
  • • When you close the browser tab, all data is automatically deleted

Technical Detail:

ZIGO is a client-side web application. All CSV parsing, transaction categorization, and rewards calculations happen in your browser's memory. No API calls are made to our servers with your transaction data.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve ZIGO:

  • • Page views and navigation patterns
  • • Device type, browser, and screen size
  • • Approximate location (city/country level only)
  • • Time spent on site and features used

What We DON'T Track:

We never track transaction amounts, merchant names, spending categories, or any financial information from your uploaded statements. Analytics tools like Google Analytics and Mixpanel only receive standard web analytics data.

Email Addresses (Optional)

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or updates:

  • • We collect only your email address
  • • Used solely to send credit card guides and ZIGO updates
  • • Never sold or shared with third parties
  • • You can unsubscribe at any time

2. How We Use Your Information

Transaction Data

Since your transaction data never reaches our servers, we cannot and do not use it for any purpose beyond the analysis you requested in your browser.

Analytics Data

We use anonymous analytics to:

  • • Understand which features are most useful
  • • Identify technical issues and bugs
  • • Improve user experience and site performance
  • • Plan new features and content

Email Data

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email to:

  • • Send new credit card guides and articles
  • • Notify you of significant ZIGO updates or new features
  • • Share relevant financial education content

We never send promotional emails for third-party products or services.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

What We DON'T Share

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your transaction data cannot be shared because we never receive it.

Third-Party Services We Use

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and user behavior. No financial data is sent to Google. You can opt out using browser extensions or privacy settings.

Vercel Analytics

Our hosting provider (Vercel) provides privacy-friendly analytics on site performance and visitor counts. This data is anonymized and aggregated.

Google AdSense

We display ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show personalized ads based on your browsing history across the web (not your ZIGO transaction data). You can control ad personalization in your Google Ads Settings.

Affiliate Partners

When you click on a card recommendation and apply, you may be redirected to the card issuer's website. At that point, you're subject to their privacy policy. We only share that you clicked a link - never your transaction data or financial information.

How Google Uses Data

When you use ZIGO, Google may collect data for advertising purposes through AdSense and Analytics. This includes:

  • • Cookies and web beacons to identify your browser
  • • IP address for approximate location
  • • Device and browser information
  • • Pages you visit on our site

4. Cookies and Tracking

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies (Required)

Basic session cookies to remember your preferences (like theme selection). These are necessary for the site to function.

Analytics Cookies (Optional)

Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can block these with browser settings or privacy extensions.

Advertising Cookies (Optional)

Google AdSense may set cookies to personalize ads. Manage these in your Google Ads Settings.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through:

  • • Your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari all have cookie controls)
  • • Privacy browser extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.)
  • • Google's ad personalization settings
  • • Private/incognito browsing mode

Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent ZIGO from functioning properly.

5. Data Security

Your transaction data is the most secure possible - it never leaves your device.

How We Protect Your Data

  • Client-side processing: Transaction analysis happens entirely in your browser
  • No server storage: We don't have your financial data to lose or leak
  • HTTPS encryption: All connections to ZIGO use encrypted HTTPS
  • No account system: No passwords to steal or accounts to compromise
  • Automatic deletion: Data is deleted when you close the browser tab

Data Breach Protection:

Because we don't store your transaction data, a server breach cannot expose your financial information. The only data at risk in a breach would be anonymous analytics and subscriber email addresses (if you opted in).

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have specific rights regarding your data:

Right to Access

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (email addresses if subscribed).

Right to Deletion

Request deletion of your data. For email subscribers, simply unsubscribe or contact us.

Right to Opt-Out

Opt out of email communications, analytics tracking, or personalized advertising.

Right to Data Portability

Request your data in a portable format. (Limited applicability since we store minimal data.)

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@tryzigo.com

7. Children's Privacy

ZIGO is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@tryzigo.com and we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

ZIGO is hosted on Vercel's global CDN. Your transaction data stays in your browser, but analytics and emails may be processed by services in the United States.

If you're in the EU/UK, these transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or Privacy Shield frameworks to ensure GDPR-level protection.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

For significant changes, we'll notify email subscribers. Continued use of ZIGO after changes means you accept the updated policy.
